Todays Entry 15/06: I really like this one, I've been guilty of holding onto guys I drafted for no other reason than I had drafted them - speaking to more experienced GM's regularly and reading Quik's post on FOFC " WITGOMT" has gone some way towards helping me be a little more ruthless when separating the wheat from the chaff. I think that's a component of this quote.

Hopefully, no team OWNERS (not to be confused with GMs) read this quote. Many times I've thought, "If I was the team owner, I'd fire me".

I think that's a component of this quote. I agree 100%! I have cut bait with multiple high picks over the years if they busted, played like shit or were not a good fit. That being said, I am as guilty as anyone of holding onto guys I have a heart for, but I most certainly will move just about any player if the situation warrants it. I can recall a conversation I had with Nick back when he was in the NAFL about not getting attached to guys. It changed my thoughts about the players, but for me, there will always be some guys that I will hold onto for sentimental reasons.

Todays entry 16/06: Another musing on the zone blitz and it's potential to be exposed by good blocking/QB play?

Todays entry 16/06: Another musing on the zone blitz and it's potential to be exposed by good blocking/QB play? That made me automatically go to read defense on the QB for some reason....I never really put the two together but it would make sense.

Yeah definitely, finding the open man versus throwing into double coverage etc

Todays entry 18/06: Not sure if this is just a UK/US difference but I always thought it was 'Sync'. Either way, this surely has to be a reference to cohesion on the Oline? It also lends to the adage of the 'blanket' concept be it for coverage or in this instance, blocking ability.

good one -- OL cohesion is definitely key for pass protection efficiency. i'm not sure that's as important for the running game, but i haven't tested extensively

YOu can get more out of players that have that higher cohesion despite being lower rated and i think that gets missed with a ton of Gms.
