Any player who has retired is eligible to be considered to be inducted into the class of 2025.
Before we get into the YES/NO debate, we first need to whittle the eligible players down to 5. This means we need to browse career statistics and draw on our own experience and memories of the RZB to further research RZB players.
We need to first establish a list of players who have a realistic shot at making the final 5. I am including the 4 finalists from last year, plus names who jumped off the retirement list this off season.
QB Cam Newton RB Todd Gurley WR T.Y. Hilton WR Justin Hunter DE Khalil Mack DT Kawann Short WR Mike Evans G Mitch Morse LB Von Miller QB Ben Roethlisberger WR Alshon Jeffrey S Calvin Pryor
Over to you guys, who else should we be considering?

I would suggest G Ali Marpet, and LB Kevin Minter
Also Mitch Morse had his best years as a Center rather than a Guard

So.... We don't wait five years before inducting a guy like the NFL does?

I don't necessarily think they should get in, but it's worth considering guys like:
WR DeAndre Hopkins 725 catches 9650 yards 70 TDs LT Ricky Wagner 2018 2nd-Team and 2022 1st-Team LG Joel Bitonio 2018 2nd-Team 2023, League's Strongest Man, 10th All-Time in Key Run Blocks CB Jalen Collins 2017 2nd-Team 2018 2nd-Team 51 ints (1st All-Time) DE Sheldon Richardson 78.5 sacks (7th All-Time), 19 FF, 3rd All-Time in blocked passes.
LS Damian Gerhardt 3 Rings?

For me, the final 5 is;
QB Cam Newton QB Ben Roethlisberger WR Alshon Jeffrey LB Von Miller S Calvin Pryor
Not necessarily in that order.

In order;
1. Von Miller (2nd year of eligibility) 2. Ben Roethlisberger (2nd) 3. Khalil Mack 4. Cam Newton 5. Alshon Jeffrey (2nd)
Tough list to make but that's how it should be

Ben, Cam and Miller are a common theme between you two guys. I agree, those 3 guys are a final 5 lock for me.
Not so hot on Jeffrey. I am still considering my final 2.

Cam is borderline first ballot for me. Only one ring and his last couple of years were average at best. His rushing numbers are superb throughout his career though

Collectively the eligible guys make me think....meh.
However, I am happy to further discuss the merits of these five in no particular order:
Cam Newton Ben Roethlisberger Calvin Pryor Von Miller Alshon Jeffrey

Looking back on the 2024 discussion; redzoneblitz.boards.net/thread/2222/hall-fame-class-2024-finalMiller and Big Ben were deemed to be on the cusp by most GMs. This says to me that they deserve to be entered in the second year of eligibility. The next discussion is about whether the likes of Pryor and Jeffrey get in this year. In my opinion, no but maybe down the line. Then we have to decide if any of the new crop deserve 1st ballot status. Nobody quite jumps out at me. Maybe Cam but really undecided

I feel Big Ben is close....real close. Cam was a heck of a dual threat in his prime and certainly deserves strong consideration but I'm not totally sold. The other three of my five candidates are not, in my view, Hall of Famers.
I'm open to arguments for and against but if I was voting here and now I would vote Big Ben in as the sole entrant this year.

Von Miller gets my vote based on two DPOY awards and multiple 1st team all pro. I think his stats also are impressive for a linebacker that did it all. Tackles, sacks, coverage.

Cam, Miller, and Big Ben are all yeses for me.
Todd Gurley should be a 1st ballet. 2nd All-Time in Yards from Scrimmage, 1st All-Time in All-Purpose Yards, only Rawls and Chamberlain have scored more points as skill players, 2nd All-Time in Rushing yards, 3rd All-Time in rushing TDs, 2nd All-Time in receiving yards by a RB. He checks just about every box for me.
Alshon Jeffery should get into the Hall eventually I think. His yards put his on the fence but his TDs is the 3rd most anyone in the league has put up and 90 receiving TDs would put him just outside the top 10 in the NFL. But I could agree to Jeffery waiting another year.
Right now my 5, all yeses in no particular order, are: Cam Newton Big Ben (2nd) Todd Gurley Von Miller (2nd) Alshon Jeffery (2nd)
