Cam, Miller, and Big Ben are all yeses for me. Todd Gurley should be a 1st ballet. 2nd All-Time in Yards from Scrimmage, 1st All-Time in All-Purpose Yards, only Rawls and Chamberlain have scored more points as skill players, 2nd All-Time in Rushing yards, 3rd All-Time in rushing TDs, 2nd All-Time in receiving yards by a RB. He checks just about every box for me. Alshon Jeffery should get into the Hall eventually I think. His yards put his on the fence but his TDs is the 3rd most anyone in the league has put up and 90 receiving TDs would put him just outside the top 10 in the NFL. But I could agree to Jeffery waiting another year. Right now my 5, all yeses in no particular order, are: Cam Newton Big Ben (2nd) Todd Gurley Von Miller (2nd) Alshon Jeffery (2nd) I really tried to convince myself about Gurley but couldn't quite fit him in to my top 5. I put Mack in because he is leader in sacks, hurries (next best is 43 behind), 2nd all time in blocks and 1st team all pro twice. Not sure he is first ballot but thought he was worth considering

I think Chamberlain will be a class above Gurley when he is done.

Probably, he's already about to pass him in a bunch of stats.

I feel I could be convinced on Von Miller. He has some great individual honours and good stats for a short career. It's the duration of his career that holds me back. What do you guys think about short career players and whether they deserve Hall status, especially as years from now their stats will be overtaken? I'm wondering if I'm unfairly penalising guys like Von Miller due to his short service?

Longetivity has to be a factor. If a player is that exceptionally dominant I think we can make the odd exception.
Ask the question, has anyone else been that dominant over a 4-5 year span. Withour looking I believe Cam had a span similar to Ben's career, in addition to everything else he accomplished.
I would compare Miller with the likes of Clowney. Has Clowney had a span equal to that of Miller?

Is there any accounting of how far into their careers these guys were when we started the league? Wondering if there should be a Hall of Founding Fathers, or something like that, for guys who probably would have made the Hall had they had full careers in the RZB.

1. Von Miller (2nd year of eligibility) 2. Ben Roethlisberger (2nd) 3. Khalil Mack 4. Cam Newton 5. Alshon Jeffrey (2nd) I am going with this as my final 5 also. But at this point I feel there is clear daylight between Von, Ben, Cam and the other 2 guys.

I think I could agree to Von, Ben, and Cam getting in while the other guys wait another year. I could agree to just Von and Ben as well. If we're trying to establish a clear class of hall of Famer with each ballet then it would make sense for guys to wait a year or two even if they're deserving of getting in. Not everyone can have Thomas Rawls type production and be a 1st Ballet.

I can get behind Ben and Von this year, and most likely vote for Cam next year.

Miller was DPOY in 2015. 2016 shortlisted for DPOY, got 2 votes. 2017 shortlisted, 2 votes. He was top of the food chain for 3 years. Ben's career is much the same. 3 seasons as a top level player. 2 OPOY's granted. 5 seasons to Millers 7. Maybe Ben's case is a little stronger? Not much if it is.
