That was a weird media format to put Belichick on. A whole host of bros being bros and then an encyclopaedic bloke wanting to talk seriously about Northern Illinois University prospects etc etc etc.
I thought generally the draft coverage last night and waking up this morning was poor. In fact generally I think NFL media coverage is in a bad place. I really miss the Grantland NFL podcast back in the day with Robert Mays and Bill Barnwell - I don't think there's anything now that comes close to it. Tell me if there's stuff you guys like that I might not have heard of, because right now I'm not seeing much to chime in with

Well i enjoyed it, I watched City smash Brighton, fell asleep on the settee for 2-3 hours, woke up just in time for 1.1, watched Latham bear hug the big bad commishiner and almost send him back for more back surgery, then watched us get Bowers which surprised me somewhat as we needed OL. I hope he's not quite as good as Kelce so we don't become about some some blonde popstar. I was happy we don't have a QB and 100,000 fans running round with "Penis" on the back of their Jerseys as predicted in many mocks and then laughed every time a pick was made because it takes about 30 guys in one room (the war room) to make one pick, why do they need 30 people ?

Tell me if there's stuff you guys like that I might not have heard of, because right now I'm not seeing much to chime in with I agree - I always feel like I want to like The Pat McAfee show whenever they have a guest I want to watch but honestly - watching Bill try to do even a modest analysis and people are actually barking like dogs in the background just felt a bit out of place. I'm not saying there's no place for humour/that style of show but I guess BB and more 'serious' analysis just didn't mesh well. Overall I feel the same about the coverage - for me my enjoyment of the draft peaks before hand with podcasts like 'Move the Sticks' and YT channels like 'Thinking Football' that I shared the other day (and also Kurt Warner's channel thanks to Evan sharing) as they do their run downs on all the prospects in the build up etc. I'll just read a textual re-cap the following morning and then follow what the Bengals do as it progresses over the next few days. I used to listen to Around the NFL, The Dave Damashek show, Move the Sticks and about 3 others but I've now refined it down to basically just the PFF podcast, occasionally around the NFL and Move The Sticks at draft time as a supplement. The rest comes from the YT shows mentioned above.

The Kansas City Chiefs' rivals aren't happy that three-time Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes will be throwing to the fastest receiver in NFL combine history next season.
"F--k me," an AFC general manager texted NFL insider Jordan Schultz after the Chiefs traded up for Xavier Worthy with the No. 28 pick in the draft. PS. He weighs 165 lbs--74.8427kg.

The 49ers taking Ricky Pearsall was a surprise to me, I had him WR 10/11 in the class, hopefully they know what they are doing! I keep hearing this means the 49ers have to trade one of their WR's, but I don't understand why, yes Aiyuk will be expensive, but by the time Pearsall needs paid Kittle and Samuel will both be gone?

I would have preferred the Patriots to have traded down with the Vikings to pick up an extra pick and could have gotten JJ McCarthy. Not sold on Maye at all, there is a risk with all of them but I feel like Maye is the biggest risk of them all.
I did not understand the Falcons pick at all. You just paid Cousins $180m over 4 years and you bring in a QB with the #8 pick. I don't hate bringing in a QB as your future option but not at #8 and you passed on a WR Target or TE Bowers for Cousins.

Belichick talking last night about the new Patriots QB pick is worth watching if you haven't. It was quite funny in its way

I really enjoyed McAfee draft coverage. Was so refreshing to what the coverage has become over the last decade where every pick just gets over hyped and kiss the ass of every team making every pick. The coverage was so good on Mcafee show that it will become the most watched draft show within 2 years. This is the model going forward, Mad Mel was hilarious and belichic added what they needed in a real expert breaking down film instead of what ESPN has with Booger just kissing ass every pick like they drafted a pro bowler.
