Detroit selects DT Tyrell Mason from the University of Houston with pick 1.8
The 4th rated prospect in this year's draft is the big man for the Cougars Tyrell Mason. Mason destroys interior lineman with his tenacity on every play and sits at 6 foot 3 and 330 pounds!
One of the aspects that separates Mason is his elite pass rush moves for a defensive tackle. You have a ton of Pure NT that can clog up the middle and stop the run game but Mason is a pole dancer at heart. He Is as good on the pass rush with a purely overphysical attacking bull rush but the next play he will throw the lineman out of the way and spin on him to get the sack.
I had one scout Talke about Mason and call him a "line of scrimmage disruptor" and i thought that was a really great way to describe him.
Grade A Good pure stud DT will most likely never get higher then an A grade even if he is All Pro 104 rated. I think he will be one of the best Dts in the league.

I had a chance to sit down with our very own sawblade:
Florio here, the new draft class is out. Has anyone caught your eye? What are your initial thoughts?
Hey Mike. I haven't dove into the class a ton because I don't pick till the middle of the round and with the slow roll, that may not be till the weekend. I do have a new OC and scheme, so things may be changing on offense. So what I had in mind going into the off season, may change now.
Of the top QBs, who do you like and why?
Well, Obviously Brennan looks amazing and should be a beast. He's got the bars, the combines and he's huge! Who's going to tackle him once he starts scrambling?
Any interest in making a move up or down this draft?
Right now, we will hold with where we are and see what shakes out and who's available.
Rapid fire: Who are the top 5 picks in this draft...
This is what I have ranked. Not necessarily how they will go.
1: QB Brennan 2: QB Slutzker 3: WR Butterworth 4: T Massa 5: RB Reynolds (I know not a popular pick in the top 5)
Any juicy rumor you want me to share for you?
The Rams may be shopping QB Mauricia if they can find another QB that fits the new offense better. It's not something GM Sawblade will be happy about as he's stated he really loves Glen and how he's developed since being on the team.

Pittsburgh selects OL Gus Lustgarten out of the University of Florida with pick 1.9
Our 16th rated prospect sneaks up the board a little as Ezlee grabs the OL Gus Lustgarten. This one is interesting to say the least and i caught up with Rob who said he is planning on moving him to LT where he has never played but this kid is an athletic speciman. He skipped the combine because of his agent and it did not hurt him despite what alot of other scouts thought would happen.
Rob. " I think he is elite and i am moving him to LT"
A nasty interior lineman that was used in open space for the Gators more then i remember any other player. He does not get penalized and plays to the whistle every play. He attacks at the line of scrimmage with his massive pop to the pads and once he gets inside leverage it seems like he is carrying a bag of salt for these poor defensive lineman.
Grade B I had him going a bit lower and heck if it were not Rob i would have graded this pick lower as i have him 82 rated.

Philadelphia selects G Sam Preston out of the University of Kansas with pick 1.10 Our 13th rated player in this draft is the Kansas Jayhawk combine specialist Sam Preston. He was good at Kansas but he was elite at the combine.
This kid is a road grader with a nasty streak. We hear that alot with offensive lineman but Preston does not like to be beaten in the run game and takes it personally. He is a workout warrior that was also an all american wrestler at Kansas. The likeness is a dancing bear with a jersey on.
He is another smart offensive lineman that makes very few mistakes. I can see him stepping in day one and playing for 10 years at G at an elite level.
Grade B+ I love the kid drafted at about where i think he would go. He plays guard and is a great G rated at 85 All pro.

The Patriots select G Omar Keyes out of the University of California with pick 1.11
Our 8th prospect on our board goes 1.11 to the Patriots in Omar Keyes.
Madman in the interior line that is just a plain old nasty finisher. He drives opponents into the dirt then holds them down. He has the career(stats have only been kept on pancakes since 2002) record for pancakes for Cal. Note his QB went in the top 10 so Cal really has some talent in this year's draft.
Let's talk about Omar in the run game! I could break down film for this kid for days. He gets out on the edge and blows pads off of defenders. He is great in the open field or run the booty sneak behind him for 2-3 yards every play. It is something you cannot stop.
He does have an edge to him and seems to get a few penalties at times. He is a good pass blocker but not elite. I would put him a little below the other top end Guards in this draft but he is superior in the run game for sure.
Grade A ANother offensive lineman now in RBZ in the top ten. Nick is rolling in his FOF grave as Omar has an 86 rated grade or an all pro Guard for the Patriots.

The Pittsburgh Steelers selected RB Conrad Reynolds out of West Chester University with pick 1.12 Our 22nd rated player doubles up on the list and Conrad Reynolds goes to the 'Burg here at pick 12.
Division 2 school where Conrad broke NCAA division 2 records in rushing attempts and rushing touchdowns in a career. He has started for the Rams since he was a freshman and never turned back boasting over 1500 carries in 3 years and over 6000 yards!
His nickname is the Anvil and that matches his rushing style. He is a bull in a china shop and i love that he runs to defenders in the open field to punish them! If i had to key in to the main element in his game that makes it all work is his vision. The offensive line he had was less then pedestrian but he is able to read blocks and be patient before attacking the hole.
He is not much of a speed guy so i expect very few 20 plus yard runs. Here is what is odd is the kid is a viable option out of the backfield. I had him listed as the best receiving back in this year's draft! I think he could move to WR and be successful at the next level.
Grade B I know a little harsh but went a bit earlier then i thought for him as i had him listed late 1st early 2nd. He may have been there at Ezlee's pick he traded out of who knows. 80.6 rated ALl pro kid.

The Vikings selected OLB/DL Angel Farr out of Iowa with pick 1.13 Farr is the 18th player on our list and is a total Edge player. I have him listed as a 3-4 WLB or a 4-3 defensive end.
Great size at linebacker sitting 6 foot 3 and 230 and some change. He plays at Iowa so you know how that is they care only about defenses and punting. Farr was the team captain and played all 5 years for the Hawkeyes. He is the most elite run defender of any of the linebackers and has a fat kid loves cake mentality when chasing QB1. Loves to play special teams and read and reacts to plays as he studies so much film. UNderstands zone concepts and uses his strength in BnR to really break up routes.
I see him sometimes lined up M2M and struggles a little against speedier tight ends or receivers. Has a great pass rush but more tenacity, agility, and speed then pure brute strength.
Grade A- Big fan i think he is better then the board lists him 82 rated borderline all pro potential linebacker for the Purple people eaters.

Carolina selects G Leroy Laster out of Baylor with pick 1.14 The 11th player on our draft board slips out at pick 15 to the Panthers in Leroy Laster.
Laster is legitimately one of the best guards in this draft class. I am amazed he was one of the last ones off the board. He had the #2 Combine for a G this year and is probably the smartest and lease penalized of the bunch.
Good technique kid that uses his feet and hands to go with his hip bend to really place himself in the right position. He is hard to move as i think i only saw him on take pushed back a handful of times. Good in the run and pass game but does not show strength on tape. He seems to lean on blocks and not finish them at times but the defender cannot move so that is a positive.
Grade A one of the best Guards of the bunch sneaking out here to pick 14 89.9 rated kid nice pick for the Panthers.

Jaguars select DT Aiden Overbeck out of Notre Dame with pick 1.15
Wow the 2nd player on our board slips all the way to pick 15 for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
So Aiden is a little on the light side at 6 foot 2 and 303 pounds but i think is a tweener DE or DT. Does not take plays off ever and will disrupt the play just based on his football IQ. Stats kid that loves to hear how many TFl or Qb knockdowns he can get. He is the lineman that will chase a WR 20 yards downfield and force a fumble on a 5 step drop...I have seen him do it!
Uses his hands to keep off blockers better then any pure lineman in this class. He is weight room strong and put up the most reps of 225 for defensive tackles. This kid loves special teams and it takes a special breed of defensive lineman to lead the FIghting IRish is special team tackles.
Grade A+ Love this kid i would have drafted him and put him at defensive end but either way this kid is legit with a borderline 110 HOF draft status potential.

Rams select RB J.B. Turner out of the University of Missouri with pick 1.16 OUr 21st player on the big board sneaks into the pick 16 spot. If you did not do your research you did not know this kid he did not put up a ton of numbers for Mizzu but he is olympic speed fast.
He can take any play to the house and uses his speed on every play. YOu can tell he is a burner the moment he touches the ball it is a little more speed then anyone else on the field. He was the primary offense for Missouri and was used more as a receiver in college or out of the backfield. He led the team in catches and all of college football for running backs in Yards receiving, YPC, Receiving TDs, and had two 99 yard pass receptions in his career.
He has never been the #1 back so that was the major question for him. His pure speed also mean not a ton of wiggle in this kid he is gone for extra yards or plods for 2-3 yards.
Grade A I had him listed as the #1 running back in this draft personally and i think he could play WR with his 81 HOF potential rating.

Next up is Bengals GM julioriddols, who dropped one of the best one liners...
Florio here, the new draft class is out. Has anyone caught your eye? What are your initial thoughts?
My initial thoughts are that I wish I had high draft picks this year. Top of the class looks incredible.
Of the top QBs, who do you like and why?
The top guy Brennan is a clear cut, head and shoulders stud. He has literally everything. 6'4", 230, 21 years old. No real weakness in his game. If he doesn't win a ring, someone fucked up. We haven't seen someone with his level of talent in a while, if ever.
Any interest in making a move up or down this draft?
I'd immolate myself for Brennan.
Rapid fire: Who are the top 5 picks in this draft...
Brennan better go 1.
After that,
QB Slutzker WR Butterworth CB Bertram T Massa
Any juicy rumor you want me to share for you?
No juice in Cincinnati unfortunately. It is set to be a pretty behind the scenes off season for us.

I got a text from Carolina Co-GM Boots today and he said the following about their #1 pick:
"I'll give you a quick inside track on Leroy Laster. I Had a chance to take a look at his tape which looks great, but I've just met him for the first time and boy can I tell you, I took a walk around him, a walk with purpose, and he looks beautiful from every angle. Michelangelo has rarely carved a more perfect form."
