49ers GM dthompso8 shared a bit about his new franchise QB:
Tell me, was there anyone else that you considered?
Brennan was always the number one player in this class for us, but I did want to interview the 3 top QB's in case that made a difference. I really like Roman Smoot with that arm strength, his tape is great but worried about his pocket sense and how raw he is. Raymond Slutzker also has a lot to like but he lacks a deep threat and his ability to read defenses were a concern but he is the best of the three with timing.
What do you like about Brennan the most?
His accuracy and pocket sense stood out to me. Then you look at how big and fast he is so he will be a threat when he runs. He can make all the passes with really good arm strength.
Is there anything about him that concerns you?
His timing is not the best and you have to worry that if he runs too often despite his size he could get hurt more than you would like. He threw a pick or two more than the other rookies in college.
How do you feel about adding such a generational talent?
Last season was a rough one and throwing 20+ point leads twice hurt. However the upside is we get what we think is a top QB and adding his talent to a roster with RB Anderson (4th year) and WR Schultz (3rd year) he can grow with some quality support.

Next up is Broncos GM bjbob:
Florio here, the new draft class is out. Has anyone caught your eye? What are your initial thoughts? Maybe on #1 Eewww on #2
Of the top QBs, who do you like and why?
Didn't really scout the QB's but Brennan looks like the shit.
Any interest in making a move up or down this draft?
Thought about it but then traded for a WR.
Rapid fire: Who are the top 5 picks in this draft...
I don't do anything rapid anymore.
Any juicy rumor you want me to share for you?
1.12 Will be on the Block. Are we all going to glaze over the fact that he called him bJbob?

I just got word from the Steelers that they have serious interest in 1.3 and are willing to pay a hefty price to move up. The initial word on the street is that the Jags have no interest in moving the pick, but they have had plenty of interest.

I caught up with Bills GM chrusty to talk about this draft:
Florio here, the new draft class is out. Has anyone caught your eye? What are your initial thoughts?
I think Brennan is a generational guy and I offered a ridiculous amount to move up for him to no avail.
Of the top QBs, who do you like and why?
Again, Brennan. No brainer.
Any interest in making a move up or down this draft?
So much interest, so few takers.....so far....
Rapid fire: Who are the top 5 picks in this draft...
Brennan Slutzker Butterworth Reynolds Bertram
Any juicy rumor you want me to share for you?
I heard that Tina gave PJ a handy in the alley behind QuickSave!

Bill GM made it happen trading for 1.3 from the Jaguars as once again the Lions had the pick they moved flipped for a king's ransom. The Bills wasted no time in drafting WR Toby Butterworth out of Kent State.

Bills select WR Toby Buttersworth out of Kent State with pick 1.3 The 14th rated prospect in this draft and i had him as my most talented play maker coming out of college. Toby really is going to punish the AFC starting year one.
Another big 6 foot 2 kid that has a wing span like spiderman. He runs crisp, decisive routes that are unguardable with the right quarterback. He has great speed and takes the top off of defenses while having more then enough wiggle to get the extra Yac. He makes the tough catches and has a jello like body type to contort his body on those tough catches.
He does not take plays off and high points the ball in a crowd with his size and hands.
He does not run a ton of routes over the middle but is more of a seam or sideline receiver.
Grade A++ Love this kid total magic player at the WR position that will take the Bills to the next level 84.8 rated All Pro level type of player.

Bill GM CMax was quick to respond to my call about the deal for 1.3:
"It was a pretty smooth deal. I made a big offer as I really liked Butterworth. I'd have loved to move up for Brennan, but Butterworth is a nice consolation prize. We have a super solid WR corps now."

Next up is the muffin man himself, yes that GM from the team formally known as "The Football Team."
Florio here, the new draft class is out. Has anyone caught your eye? What are your initial thoughts?
Fortunately/unfortunately, we pick too late this year to target anyone specific just yet. I was hoping to get a new starting T, but the best T in the class is likely to be gone by the time our pick comes up.
Of the top QBs, who do you like and why?
Bernard Brennan is head and shoulders above the rest. Smoot and Slutzker may be capable starters, but Brennan has the ability to be a star in this league.
Any interest in making a move up or down this draft?
We don't really have any pressing needs that we need to trade up for. Trading down may be an option if we get the right offer. We'll see how the draft shakes out.
Rapid fire: Who are the top 5 picks in this draft...
1.1 San Francisco- QB Bernard Brennan (SF will have 3 startable QBs and will probably be active in trades this offseason) 1.2 Miami- QB Roman Smoot (Miami desperately needs a QB to rebuild around) 1.3 Detroit- WR Toby Butterworth (Kinney's been making positive strides with average WRs, time to give him a true #1) 1.4 Baltimore- T Hector Massa (Best offensive lineman in the class can anchor any line in the league) 1.5 Arizona- QB Raymond Slutzker (Conway played well, but a choice at QB could give Arizona some impactful roster choices)
Any juicy rumor you want me to share for you?
You didn't hear it from me, but the Cowboys spent their Christmas season pretending to be Santas and breaking into people's homes to steal presents from small children.

I spent a few minutes with IHOF's newest champion. Oh, he's also the GM of the Eagles in the RZB:
Florio here, the new draft class is out. Has anyone caught your eye? What are your initial thoughts?
Sup Mike,
Bit of a cop out answer from me but I've not had a chance to go through the class with a fine tooth comb just yet, looks like a great draft for QB's at the top though - though conversely it looks a little light on WR's much to everyone's dismay.
Of the top QBs, who do you like and why?
I think there could be a lot of QB's to be had in this draft. In my humble opinion there are two elites (I'll let you guess who they are) and then 1 'excellent' before it moves down to about 5 guys who could be starters/usable in the right system. That's some nice depth for teams that are hungry for the 'next guy'.
Any interest in making a move up or down this draft?
I'm not a prolific trader at the best of times but I feel like we've got too many needs to be putting all our eggs in one basket, so it's not a case of a single player fixing or elevating us, we'll probably stand pat and make our picks where they are. We were bad enough last year to be picking in the top 10 of the round, so that'll hopefully yield some quality for us to address our gaps
Sorry for the late reply!!

Ravens select CB Reginald Brogan out of Oregon State with pick 1.4 #6 Prospect in this draft Brogan is prototypical size and ability cornerback to be elite at the next level.
Brogan shot up the draft boards this fall as he was thought about as a a latter round pick to start the season. He was a shutdown cornerback this year and his main spotlight game was when he played against Butterworth in week 2 holding him to under 100 yards(the only time this season) and only 1 TD(Butterworth's lowest of the season)
He ended the season with 7 picks and 19 passes defensed on the year. He truly shut down one side of the field for the Beavers. He has some of the best hands in this draft and really Handsy and strong at the line of scrimmage. He can play man but excels in zone using his eyes to get a bead on the offenses tendencies. He is not scared to put his head down and get in there in the run game to punish ball carriers. He has 3 forced fumbles this year!
He is good in M2M but not great plus he is slightly raw as this was his one and only starting year having only played about 100 other snaps in his career at Oregon State.
Grade A- 99 rated All Pro kid that i just graded at 99 but in all seriousness i had him as the 2nd best cb in this class.

Cardinals select LT Hector Massa out of the University of Arizona with pick 1.5 Massa is the 5th rated prospect in this draft and a lynchpin to the Wildcats pass heavy offense. He never missed a game in his 5 year career and steps in as one of the most "RZB" ready offensive lineman i have seen in a few years. I think he can start at the most coveted offensive line position day one for 10 years.
He is a strong kid that you can rely on not to take a play off. I had one scout call him Tetris because his blocks just delete the opposing defensive lineman. He can pass and run block equally great but is a bit older at 24 years old and i think he turns 25 this year. He is also a smart kid that is not oft penalized in his career i think he had 3 total.
Grade A Love taking the All pro rated LT 101 rated grade monster here at the 5th spot.

Colts select QB Roman Smoot from the University of California with pick 1.6
10th rated prospect whos is as pink as raw gets Roman Smoot pulls into the draft with his M16 arm strength. We have another QB here that is a 1 year Starter at Cal after jumping to his 4th team in the transfer portal and finally gets the starting gig for the Golden Bears. They built the spread offense around SMoot this year and he delivered with a Heisman Trophy after throwing for over 4000 yards , 35 touchdowns, and only 9 interceptions. He also had another 493 yards rushing and 9 tds on the ground!
Gunslinger player that thinks every hole is his...I mean every receiver is open because of the HP of his throws. He can make every throw from the pocket and is deadly on corner routes for WRs or Tes with speed. He has a great touch even if the ball looks blurry on the way there. He is accurate and does a good job of scrambling which leads more to yardage on the ground.
He does not have much timing when the ball needs to get to the out right on timing it depends more on the receiver as his throw is going to be there and laser out of bounds or get caught. Not apt to reading defenses but also not a ton of in game playing time and just average with avoiding the rush and seems to get caught in the quicksand of the pocket at times.
Grade B+ I like the kid i do not love him but the upside is a cathedral ceiling where the floor could be a backup QB in the league 90.2 rated All Pro

Saints select CB Kirk Bertram out of the University of Alabama with pick 1.7
#3 rated prospect in this year's draft Bertram arguably could be the best player in this draft. He is the most RZB ready defensive back i have seen in years.
This one is easy you just drafted a 3 time team captain at Alabama who is off their 2nd national championship in 3 years. Last year he led the team in tackles, passes defensed, interceptions, was 3rd on the team in sacks, and 2nd in tackles for loss. He is an elite defender in the run game and has great hands. He can play zone or man and loves to BNR at the line of scrimmage. HIs nickname is HIM because he is him.
A++ Love this pick no way the Saints should have gotten this steal at pick 7 as he is 105 All Pro/HOF worthy rated headed into the league.
