i hadn't noticed quotes by real football people in fof until the one from greg schiano today Ray Lewis was a couple weeks ago. Cam Newton, Bill Belicheat, and pretty sure I've seen one from Tony Dungy.

That one about veterans is particularly interesting as points towards a psychological dynamic in FOF that I had zero clue might be there

That one about veterans is particularly interesting as points towards a psychological dynamic in FOF that I had zero clue might be there I have come to the conclusion anecdotally that treating these guys like real people works. Wants winner probably factors in I bet. All those typically overlooked numbers (Loyalty, leadership, personality, etc) probably factor in some, especially if intelligence is so powerful. I feel like every time I have benched someone for a couple games and then come back to them, their performance has improved. Kinda reminds me a bit of the old Biorhythm measurement in Bases Loaded 2 for NES. When a guys biorhythm was good/bad in that game you could feel it. There is definitely some ebb and flow here as well.

I got given one for christmas aged 6. Good times man It was really cool, in season mode, in between games you would get a read out of every player on the team's biorhythm. When a guy was jacked up all into the positive, you could about guarantee he was gonna hit the hell out of the ball and/or pitch a little better than usual. I loved that game. Edit: I think I can still name my batting lineup for the New York team that I always used and nearly played a full season with.. Lollar Hacker Albin Lukas Palmer Porter Cotton (Subbed in for Marvin, who just seemed to not be as good.) Chiaro (Subbed in for Franz, who was awful and had a stupid batting stance) Stamer (Abbey and Benson were the other pitchers I used in the rotation but Stamer was a total stud) I haven't played the game in 30 plus years, but it sticks in my mind as vivid as ever.

This right here is exactly why we play sports sim games! I still remember the guy who scored the goal to win me my first Champions League trophy back in Football Manager 2007 (thank you, Oscár Hernandez).

Todays entry 06/06: For those of you out there who are, like me, considering burning your GP to the ground - perhaps this is a timely intervention from venerable coach Hurston Wood:
