Mellman — Yesterday at 11:33 AM They like their kickers in the 3rd round in that division

... just noting that this year's uberkicker went in the mid-3rd He looks like a 90 ov Kicker too I couldnt do it at 3.7 but 4.11 would have been him for sure if Wes hadnt snagged him at 3.31 I went looking to see, and was surprised to see a lot of high paid Kickers in the League NYJets, Cowboys, Titans, Buccaners, Colts, Seahawks, 49ers all over 7.5 million per yr It will be Interesting to see what Philly and Pittsburgh do with their 4th yr kickers in the last year of their contract.

We've been thinking about this from a few angles in Philly, this thread just added another level of intrigue. Though I think I'm leaning more towards a point that Juggs made (maybe in a recent IHOF video?) about not giving kickers a second contract, just cycle them in via the draft or UDFA. Punters on the other hand! Or alternatively I'll just grab this guy media.giphy.com/media/RkCMmglSxKU7RvvFoi/giphy.gifFull video link -

Coming back to this with a question..
For people willing to take a kicker in the third, does that mean you also are willing to spend an interview on them?

I interview them anyway. I usually do not interview the stud guy with great combines and bars he is great 90% of the time.

He could have been a 100 and that would still be a reach. Wow.

I know MIJB said that his sheets had this guy as the top remaining at that spot, which is understandable if you're just shooting to draft the top rated player by OVR with every pick. It was discussed in one of the IHOF videos a short while back about his propensity to value kickers highly as I believe he was paying a large % of his cap to a previous kicker (checking the largest cap hits in IHOF now I can see that has changed, so perhaps this guy is the heir) which if something you'd surely want to work your way up to, starting a guy out on a contract of this size will make that second contract even harder to stomach, unless of course you like paying kickers large % of your overall cap. I hope he does well for Maassluis, when you've got a guy with that ability the bar for expected production must be high.
