for the next season, i suggest the teams that finished 14-2 or above do a video and tell us what we are doing wrong :-D I think we were a paper tiger protected by a bombproof shell of an offensive line. If that falls apart and we lose the edge that was giving us 5 yards a carry and allowing the QB to sit back and hit throws down field, suddenly our adequate defense becomes below average and our offense is built to rely so strongly on that line that we might just domino effect our way out of this one in a hurry. I think there is a razor thin line between dominant and just pretty good. If you have extreme personnel you can run extreme schemes and push the boundaries of what is possible just because you have such an exploitable advantage. Our run blocking at full health is among the best lines ever assembled and that makes absolutely everything go for this otherwise fairly average team, which has a significant weakness in the secondary. Once a team like ours loses that true advantage, the dice take over and things can snowball from cruise control at the top of the heap to panic mode and a blow out loss. Even though our backup OL are outstanding, we lost about 50 points in run blocking with the two OL injuries we had, and the next game we couldn't run the ball. That put us in bad situations and then we couldn't pass the ball either because the pass rush ate us up in the middle, taking advantage of our rusty backup OL who hadn't seen the field all season. We don't have great RBs, we get by on outstanding blocking. We lost 12% of our run blocking ability, and I think somewhere in that 12 percent was the tipping point between overpowering run game and average run game that risks sinking the team if overused.

You claim to be be paper tiger every year. Every league. Who gets the interview? I'm thick as a brick sometimes, so I have to admit I don't understand the interview thing. I do agree with your other assertion.. I think I habitually underestimate my teams, but I don't know if that is intentional on my part or not. I don't want to brag, but I also don't want to misrepresent my expectations. I worry regularly about coming off sounding like some hot shot. I also worry regularly about sounding like I have no idea what I am talking about. In IHOF I really have no idea how we keep winning. I feel like a lot of those teams ought to beat our asses on talent, and I refuse to believe I am that good of a game planner. Here we are really good, but our hiccups have been bad ones and they definitely worry me, especially going into this game with ez and the Steelers, who put us down like dogs a few weeks ago. I think I am just wired weird. My shits all abstract ideas and cloudy illusions with a little pattern recognition swirled in for flavor. I don't even know that this is an answer to a question or just me being high and totally misunderstanding everything at the moment.
