1.1 WR Tony Abreu, New Mexico St., 54% developed, 5'11" 189 lbs. 22 yrs. old
LFA: 45/66
PTC: 51/70 (+6/+4)
PS2: 53/68 (+2/-2)
Interview: U
With the lack of hype for this draft, I thought I could sneak to 1.1 relatively cheap to grab a long term #2 WR. Abreu looks better than expected and could turn out more like a #1B WR.
Everything looks good with Abreu, and he's developed enough to start week 1.
Not much movement in potential. RR came out higher than expected. Abreu could be our #1 in the future, and he's developed enough to start as our #2 in week 1.
3.8 OLB Dennis Jacobs, Arizona St., 50% developed, 5'10" 245 lbs. 22 yrs. old
LFA: 29/62
PTC: 37/61 (+8/-1)
PS2: 39/67 (+2/+6)
Interview: U
OLB was probably our top priority in this draft with only one good starter and lackluster backups. Jacobs looks to have the potential to become a defensive anchor if his bars hold up.
Holding steady so far. Looks like the best LB on the roster and hopefully his interview means he's going to pop further up.
Stud LB with great bar distribution. Jacobs should see a good amount of playing time this year and should become the starter next season if we don't make room for him sooner.
3.16 CB Gage Newton, NC St., 53% developed, 5'10" 180 lbs. 25 yrs. old
LFA: 32/59
PTC: 39/60 (+7/+1)
PS2: 39/60 (0/0)
Interview: U
Was hoping to get a S out of this draft, but we didn't have high enough picks to get the value. A solid CB will have to suffice. Newton looks significantly better than I was expecting. I doubt his ratings hold. Either a pop or a bust is eminent.
Newton has good coverage bars so his role on this team could be to force passes to our DBs with better ball skills.
Best potential of any CB on the roster. Newton has great coverage skills and could see some early playing time in our developing secondary.
3.28 RB Evan Grebene, Maryland, 63% developed, 5'10" 213 lbs. 23 yrs. old
LFA: 40/51
PTC: 42/50 (+2/-1)
PS2: 41/44 (-1/-6)
We are lacking in RB depth. Grebene has great hole rec and the ability to make guys miss. Could compete for a starting spot down the line but might be our 3rd down back this year.
Not a super talented back, but Grebene looks like a very useful backup/3rd down back.
Small drop, but Grebene still has very useful bars. Not sure if he'll make the final roster but a useful player in the right situation.
4.12 RB Rodolfo Bandy, Syracuse, 50% developed, 5'11" 223 lbs. 21 yrs. old
LFA: 37/47
PTC: 39/49 (+2/+2)
PS2: 39/49 (0/0)
Where Grebene makes guys miss with agility, Bandy runs people over. Bandy is a bowling ball that sees holes well and takes multiple players to bring down. Could be a useful backup.
Another good backup. Bandy bulked up and has the ability to plow people over.
Not too much talent, but Bandy could see use as our 3rd down back moving forward.
4.29 T Noah Kinney, Siena, 42% developed, 6'1" 297 lbs. 23 yrs. old
LFA: 25/54
PTC: 30/54 (+5/0)
PS2: 30/54 (0/0)
Quality backup OL are usually good value in the mid-rounds. Kinney should be solid to keep around in case of injury, and maybe we get lucky with a pop.
Kinney is a smart player with good bars for RT. Should be a useful backup.
Very useful backup RT. May move him to RG to get more playing time.
5.11 G Norbert Forbes, Boston College, 32% developed, 6'6" 326 lbs. 24 yrs. old
LFA: 14/51
PTC: 18/49 (+4/-2)
PS2: 17/46 (-1/-3)
Forbes is a giant run blocker inside. Another good backup OL with an interesting mix of size and skill.
Forbes has great run blocking technique and excellent size. Looks like a guy built for a run-heavy offense.
Small drop is probably enough to push Forbes off the roster.
6.20 G Sedrick Lynch, Stanford, 64% developed, 6'3" 317 lbs. 25 yrs. old
LFA: 31/48
PTC: 35/51 (+4/+3)
PS2: 35/52 (0/+1)
I think Lynch has the bar profile of a player who could pop. If his rating holds, he's still a valuable backup G.
Lynch has a decent bar profile and good personality values to fit into a variety of schemes.
Another great backup. Decent run blocking with good intelligence and personality makes Lynch fit in a multiple of systems.
7.9 DT/DE Bryant McWilliams, Arizona St., 38% developed, 6'0" 286 lbs. 23 yrs. old
LFA: 18/38
PTC: 21/37 (+3/-1)
PS2: 20/36 (-1/-1)
McWilliams is a situational specialist. A good backup DE to bring in when a pass is obviously coming.
McWilliams is a hard-hitting sack machine. Unfortunately, he's going to be limited in the number of sets he can be in.
A purely one-dimensional player. Not sure if McWilliams will make the final roster.
7.29 ILB Fernando Leeper, Florida St., 56% developed, 6'1" 242 lbs. 23 yrs. old
LFA: 22/39
PTC: 28/41 (+6/+2)
PS2: 29/43 (+1/+2)
I was running out of players on my list at this point. Leeper has limited value, but he could be useful if we run into injury trouble.
I'm warming up to the idea of having Leeper on the roster, but I doubt he fits into any long-term plan.
A small bump is enough to keep Leeper on the roster, but he's unlikely to see playing time unless we have injury trouble.
LFA: 45/66
PTC: 51/70 (+6/+4)
PS2: 53/68 (+2/-2)
