In our new house the Wi-Fi signal box, is at one end of the house. No signal at all at the other end of the house.
The old owner left me a message, "You will find an ethernet cable in the living room which runs into the other side of the house".
No problem so far found that. I can plug it into my Wi-Fi box.
"This will enable you to extend your computer network to broaden your Wi-Fi network".
My question is what hardware do I need to plug the ethernet cable into at the other side of my house?

Not sure how you can extend your network without another access point of some kind.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the question but if you just want a connection nearer to the box why not just run a separate Ethernet cable from it?

Lol, I am even more confused now. I have an ethernet cable plugged into the box. Goes through the wall and down the side of the house. That side of the house currently can't pick up Wi-Fi. I presumed I could plug the cable in to some device which would effectively become a second Wi-Fi source?

You should be able to use an old router or a bridge

Thanks Dave. It is a virgin media job if that makes any difference. A super hub.
Any old router should do the trick?

I do have a spare Superhub. Would that work if they were linked with the ethernet cable?

Doesn't hurt to try..
