Retirements catching the eye this off season: QB HartmanQB Croteau RB Palazzo WR Fisher WR LaneWR Graham WR Bellas G Wicher LB Banks LB Bernard LB Eisenbart CB Phillips S Jostes Feel free to get things rolling guys. A quick review leads me to think that Hartman and Lane should be in the discussion. I don't think any of the other merit real consideration.

I see Lane as joining a bunch of other WR gate keepers like Johnson and Battle. While there are a lot of good players in the list above I think a lot end up as HOF gate keepers at best. Certainly not seeing any 1st ballot material.

He’s not a Hall of Fame caliber guy but I want to shout out Bellas as even having his name mentioned. 4 endurance when he was drafted and that was his peak. You don’t need endurance to play WR!
I’ll take a deeper look at the other candidates in a few days.

Hartman and Lane are the only ones worthy of consideration to me. However, they both fall into the pack with the other guys at their positions who are perpetually on the ballot but never get inducted.
Happy to see Wicher on this list. Not HoF worthy, but a solid career with us. Really hurt to let him go, but it had to be done for the rebuild.

I see Hartman as a lock simply because he's easily a top 5 QB in league history, and has 4 rings. A guy like Perry can't be the benchmark, or no other QB's will ever get in. I was on the fence with Delcorio, and Hartman is far and away better in my opinion. Lane scored a lot more TD's than most of the pack he's in. I see both as more than placeholders.

Time to get rolling on this class guys.
WR Dunn is the only outstanding write-up.
There doesn't seem to be any obvious 1st ballot guys in the retiring class. Banks, Cheuse and Delcorio were the 3 guys who made the final 5 and didn't get in last season.
I will again be getting behind Evan's line of thinking with DB's. CB Newhart and S Keeling. Essentially these guys have really nice stats, but unlike most of the competition gave up relatively few catches. I do also like CB Loronzo McWilliams, 2036 DPOY.
I think DE Blake has a shot of my final 5, along with DT Cheuse.

Guys with a real chance (in my opinion) QB Hartman QB Delcorio DE Blake DE Hancock DT Cheuse LB Connell CB McWilliams S Banks S McAllister I'd just add the guys I've previously talked about to that list: Calvin Pryor, Taylor Keeling, Tashaun Gipson, Morris Claiborne, and Douglas Newhart.

I think Hartman and Delcorio both deserve nods. Blake and McWilliams seem worthy of consideration again. Banks will always be on my list, but not going to push for his consideration. Cheuse just doesn't do it for me.

For me, Delcorio should be highly considered. Hartman is about in-line with Delcorio, so he should be considered eventually, but I don't think he's first ballot.
I like Blake, and I've said enough about him over the years.
Cheuse is the top guy on my list and has been for a while. I see him as the #2a DT behind Malcolm Brown and almost the same as Aaron Donald. Also, I think his ST play should count for something, easily the most prolific ST player in league history. He was the best DT in the league for almost a decade and one of the top few all time where his only comparisons are guys already in the HoF.
As far as the DBs, I like McWilliams and Banks for now. Both racked up all-league awards and put up great career numbers. Other defensive players like Connell, Claiborne, and Newhart have been growing on me the more I look at them, but I still like McWilliams and Banks a little more.

It does have the look of a class where nobody is going to get unanimous support. Whole bunch of excellent players, but not seeing anyone on the elite level. Is what it is, see what the process brings. I will give this thread a few more days to play out.
I like that McWilliams are Newhart are starting to gain traction. I think Keeling is right there too. Blake and Cheuse those bubble guys. Unless someone talks me out of it, that is the way I think I am going, those 5 guys.
