We came into this draft with two first rounders after dealing Grabulariousness last offseason. We got back the 11th overall pick, so definitely feeling like we got a good deal. The gameplan heading into this draft was to find some O line talent, as our current group is at the end of their careers. We are likely going to squeeze one more year out of the current starters, and then shift to the young ones next season.
.11 LT Jonah Devine (Valparaiso University) An absolute specimen. His primary strength is pass blocking. He easily absorbs and manhandles even the strongest of competition during his Senior Bowl workouts. His combine workout wowed scouts in every measurable including intelligence. He just doesn't make mental mistakes. He appears well developed in his blocking skills even at just 21 years old. He will likely start day 1. 45/77
.26 C Daquan McDonnell (Univ. of Alabama) Roll Damn Tide! McDonnell is another combine champ, but the gametape against some of the best competition in the country backs up his performance on combine weekend. A solid run and pass blocker, good strength, and endurance. And intelligent, fairly well developed, and young to boot. 30/66
.25 CB/S Antoine Bolling (North Carolina State Univ.) Bolling played a hybrid position in college, demonstrating a mastery of any position in the defensive backfield. He has the size to play either as well. Bolling appears to best fit the safety position at the pro level. He is terrific in zone coverage, diagnoses well and most importantly has the skill to go get the ball. We want turnover makers in Arizona. 20/47
.27 RB Wally Duncan (Arizona Univ.) Duncan is... a guy... we hope will come in day 1 ready to play. He is highly developed and has a solid floor. Nothing spectacular, but competence. Yay! 44/50
.25 TE Donovan Wilkins (Duke Univ.) Wilkins could be a good 2nd tight end. He appears to have a decent balanced game, run blocking well, and some genuine receiving skill. 15/40
.27 WR Ernest Hill (Univ. of Oregon) Drafted in large part because of a potential mask given his combine. His BPR should land somewhere near 60. RR is meh. Who am I kidding, he'll probably suck. 21/35
.26 QB Bo Petrella (Univ. of North Carolina) I struck a few seasons ago with a 7th round QB in Britton. Hoping something similar happens with Petrella. I like the SR, and a few other traits are decent. We'll see. 8/27
