Let me know if you want to remain as a selector for this class. Equally if you want to jump in, now is the time to say. Anyone is welcome to join.
No recommending, lobbying or commenting on any player(s) that were on a selectors team at any portion of their career. Failure to comply with this rule could result in automatic expulsion from the committee without warning.
It is going to be run a little more hard line this year, bordering on a dictatorship. The reason we are going through this process is because the game algorithm is broken, and pretty much meaningless. Just like the game MVP awards. It has to be run in a fair manner or it is a pointless process, selectors pushing their own players will have posts deleted and if necessary they will have to step down.
To be clear mentioning your own player and even briefly highlighting his achievements once is fine, but just once.
Recently discussed prospects C Rogers QB Bridgewater S Banks WR Samuels WR Beckham C Rogers C Polk K Rebensdorf LB Carpenter TE Kurt Downs S Vernon Koski T Ramon Hatch
Some recently retired players (and I am sure I am missing a few worth a mention so feel free to help me out) C Silas Plenus DE Dominic Murray G Earnest Nixon LB Gustavo Unruh LB Aiden Ward CB Devonte Daniels
Just drop a note in this thread if you want to participate this year...

I think we missed Dobler (At least I think that this was his name). If I remember correctly he was the best Punter we had in this League

I was already IN but Nick wanted me to confirm again. I think it makes him feel better.

Nixon is a 1st ballot guy. He was my ex player but such a beast. Well there is your 1 allowable Nixon push Wes, thought you would of made the paragraph longer. I think he is probably the best Guard we have seen in the RZB. The 0.4% sack ratio shouldn't be overlooked. I think the other guys get cock blocked by better players when it comes to 1st ballot, Hoffman>Murray for example. Whether he is 1st ballot or not we will see, but he has a shot IMO.

happy to chime in if you guys want an unbiased view -- i have no idea who these players are or who they played for! One thing I should mention is that we decided to draw a line between 1st ballot HOFers, and the rest. 1st ballot HOFers are typically clearly the best we have seen at the position. Best of the best if you like. There are plenty of guys who have had to wait several years before being inducted, those guys who, when the dust settled, achievements became clearer. Any retired player is eligible, so don't feel led by the players mentioned in this thread. redzoneblitz.boards.net/thread/4335/hall-fame-criteriaredzoneblitz.boards.net/thread/262/rzb-hall-fame

Yeah he is such head and shoulders i felt the longer stat paragraph was almost uneccessary. I love the 1st ballot being a little tougher thats a nice touch.

I'm not on the committee so I can talk about whomever I please. I loved Nixon when he was with us. Was sad I couldn't resign him at the end, but felt he was getting older and would retire. Which he did. Actually played a couple extra years.

C Silas Plenus Sort of a lower tier good C and below HItchock Polk and Rogers for sure. That 51 sacks allowed is the 11th most for a Center all time. I think never a HOFer but a great player.
DE Dominic Murray I originally thought no on him but here is a nice statline- #2 all time in sacks for DE #5 all time in blocks for DE #2 all time in hurries for DE #2 all time in Qb knockdownws #13 all time in forced fumbles 7 seasons over 10 sacks and 6 of them over 13 sacks in a season. 3 Sb rings the Seattle monikor
G Earnest Nixon Nixon 383 KRBs and only 30 sacks allowed in his career. #3 in KRBs that 30 sacks allowed is unbelievable in 188 games.
LB Gustavo Unruh LB Aiden Ward Both players are not standouts IMO at all. Ward was on my team and truth be told Welandy is and was the better player. Ward was great against the pass.
CB Devonte Daniels This dude is 3rd all time in interceptions and 5 years of 5 or more that is a nice number for sure. 13 FF and 997 tackles which is number one all time and 12 all time in passes defensed.
I like to throw out Nicolas Meier also as i had him and just stats on him- 780 career tackles 111 passes defensed 18 interceptions Meier is also the 4th all time in KR yards and 4 tds
So if i had to throw guys up there Nixon seems a no brainer IMO
PLenus is a no
Murray really catches your eye but for some reason i am not sure on the 1st ballot but sure he is a HOFer
Neither LB works for me.
Cb I like Daniels a ton. I would love to hear more from the guys. Daniels holds me back a bit as he has 104 defensed but a mammoth 529 caught against him.

I don't see Murray as first ballot. I think he makes the HOF one day but I see a gap between him and Hoffman.
I think Nixon is first ballot.
I doubt the other guys ever make the HOF. Look destined to join Teddy in the Hall of the very good.
