I have been on record with my family, but I need to spread my prophesy around a little further. I have been saying this leading up to the Superbowl...
Brock Purdy with NEVER win a championship. He is the next Matty Ice. Good QB that can put up numbers, but his teams will never get over the hump. Who's with me?

A lot of people seem to think that Purdy is not nearly as good as his numbers say and it’s being propped up by Shanahan and the skill players on the 49ers.
Some numbers that support this is that his release time, how long it takes him to get rid of the ball after a snap, is only middle of the league. His turnover worthy throw percentage is very near the bottom of the league. He attempts the 2nd lowest amount of contested throws in the league, in other words he doesn’t have to make difficult throws. The 49ers WRs meanwhile rank 7th in contested catch percentage, they rank first in yards after catch and yards after contact.
The one thing Purdy really has that isn’t disputed is accuracy. He’s one of the more accurate QBs in the league. He’s certainly a upgrade over Jimmy G who really wasn’t all that good at anything, and we see how he looks outside of Shanahan’s system. It wouldn’t be that shocking if the 49ers were looking for another QB soon.

I am glad the stats tend to back up some of my impression. The other aspect is how many great young QBs there are right now in the league that he would likely be matching up against in the playoffs. He will get outduelled by one of these guys each and every year.

I think he can. Trent Dilfer won a SB....PUrdy is bounds and leaps more accurate and a better passer.

He's a good QB on one of the best run franchises in the league in only his second season. He's probably going to get another shot down the road. I'd genuinely be shocked if he doesn't get another chance.
Add on that he was better than Mahomes in the first half, and it took an OT drive with 2 4th down conversions for the Chiefs to win. Purdy put his team in a position to win the game.

When Greenlaw went down, the Chiefs started moving the ball at will and at that point it was over. Chiefs D is also no joke, they can cover everyone and once their pass rush starts to win you are toast on offense. Doesn't matter who your personnel are. I was a Purdy doubter, but he has done nothing to back what I believed about him a season and a half ago. Kid is legit. Would have a ring if Greenlaw manages to make it with his Achilles intact.

Hey man, Matt Ryan had a 28-3 margin at halftime.
