Anyone else here in this league know? I have gotten forbidden errors the last couple days when trying to go to the site.

All three of my other league forums are down. USFL, IFL and TFL. I believe all are hosted on the same server.

From Hooper:
Apparently my host received a copyright infringement notice from the USFL. Looks like they shut everything down until it's resolved.
Here's some gems from the email ... "The above-mentioned URL uses trademarked naming conventions/logos/images that infringe on USFL. This fraudulent domain is claiming to be associated/authorized/partnered with our client which is creating a risk for the entity’s people, assets, customers, operations, and reputation.
Due to the suspicious substring match of the URL and the web page's appearance, it appears the domain is attempting to impersonate USFL. This domain is not registered by USFL or any of its subsidiaries. USFL has not hosted this domain on your platform, nor have they authorized it. This web page could be used for phishing, credential harvesting, malware distribution, or other internet crimes. These actions have created numerous risks including loss of revenue and traffic and, most notably, repetitional issues and loss of consumer trust."

I am a Cyber Security salesman by trade and the technical term for whats happening to the website is " It's fucked" LOL

As Hooper indicated, this issue is solely with the FOF USFL league, the other four leagues on the same platform being collateral damage until this gets resolved. The irony here is that the FOF USFL league, which has been in existence on multiple game platforms for 20+ years, was so named some 15 years after the original real USFL league was dead to honor the USFL, even naming their championship game after arguably the greatest player in that league, Herschel Walker.
I have some experience with a company's use of patent and trademark searches, so I understand how these kinds of situations come about. Hopefully it can be resolved by this "thinking they're a bigger deal than they really are" league being made to realize that some football sim league is no threat to them*. But if not, it has been suggested that some media attention might help. Put a story entitled "Big Sports Pro Football Attempts to Crush a Fantasy Hobby League" on the desk of Stephen A. Smith or...Adam Schefter, and you've got national news. Will be interesting to see how this plays out, but in the meantime, those of us in one or more of the five affected leagues remain in limbo.
* Or maybe, these schmucks somehow got ahold of some game logs and saw, however fictional, attendance at games of like 95,000 and got jealous, considering they struggle to put 150 in the seats.

I knew that damn text based sports simulation phishing was where the real money is, that's why I joined the damn league!!
But yeah really just showing when the domain was registered should be enough I would think. Wouldn't be surprised if the notice was created and sent via some form of AI copyright protection bot.

In cyber security a company or brand will employ a Reseller or MSP like PwC oe EY to hunt both the web and dark web forums, social media platforms, and corporate digital estates, as well as executive profiling and keyword searches to determine credential leakages and potential domain infringements. If they find anything such as the USFL they will get it shut down. Guess the USFL has to change its names etc

Wow. Unbelievably petty. Remind me to never watch the USFL again. (I didn't even know it existed.)

Wow. Unbelievably petty. Remind me to never watch the USFL again. (I didn't even know it existed.) I'm not trying to be twat here but. Cyber Security is about reducing risk. Tomorrow someone could pick up a virus, see racism or homophobic stuff on the FOF USFL site ( not saying for one minute they would but they could). That then gets posted on twatter or tik tok and associated with the real USFL and they have a problem that could get a lot bigger. So they reduce risk and shut the fof usfl down as they have copyright etc. I agree it's harsh but thats how it works
