Just 10 minutes into the 1st video and I'm amazed how different we all can play the game and be successfull. Me for example loves LB's. Sure in my 34 defense I'm fine with two low rated unspecial run stoppers, but when you have a guy like Agbabian in the middle it changes a whole defense IMO.
Anyway love listening to this stuff. Can't wait to get to the draft talk.

Anybody ever see that movie where the cool people compete to see who can invite the biggest idiot to the dinner party? Asking for a friend

Stevens is NEVER a guy I'd take in the first round...
I look at a guy's combines because my defensive scout sucks. His combine is not near the top of LBs, so he wouldn't get a look in the first round. I need bars AND combines at 1.9.
As for DE... I'm happy with my current DEs and I'm not looking for a DE at this point.
Were I in the situation you put me in, I will tell you honestly... Thornton would be my pick if I was to pick a linebacker. I have other needs which I grade higher than LB, however, and ultimately I would pick Uzzell and hope I could get him to gain weight and move to SS. I'd also be looking at SS Troy Baron. The thing I dislike about them both is their very poor static bar punishing hitter. Because of this, I would also consider one of the top 2 TEs that are left, after trading Giangrave, or one of my top 2 rated WRs that are left (one of whom isn't even on your first round).

After your draft last year, I couldn’t quite tell which bum you’d take, so I had to choose one. Stevens fit that bill

If it wasn't for these videos, I wouldn't have looked at the draft more than to see which positions looked strong and which positions I needed to get guys in free agency or trades BTW, to help you understand me better... EVERY player on my team is a role player. They have a specific role on the team (when it is set up the way I want it)... so I'm generally looking for specific bars and combines to back up the bars. Frederick is a good example of this... He powers my running game, and hopefully he will continue to get around 2000 all purpose yards a season while being rated under 50.

This is the key to solid drafting. Too many people get wrapped up in trying to find that hidden creeper that will boom from a 40ish player to a 50ish player and think they struck gold. IMO it's better to develop a system (on offense and defense) and get the bars that make it work and back those bars up with solid combines. I spent years getting wrapped up and disappointed in trying to draft creepers. Find the bars you need...simple as that.
