The Help file offers this: Ideal weight for SE is 197, and Flanker 195. as well as the below text in quotes.
"X – Split End. Often a “possession” receiver, a little bit bigger than most wide receivers, as he usually lines up on the line of scrimmage on the weak side and can face press coverage.
Z – Flanker. Often a “speed” receiver who can stretch the defense. He rarely lines up on the line of scrimmage, but still can face press coverage. He is almost always on the strong side of the offense."
In another league I was setting up a depth chart and Rex (in it's infinite wisdom), set my 100 BPR, 194 lb WR as the SE. And the slower, heavier WR as the FL. Rex is hardly evidence of much.
The real question for me was when I toyed with the position change menu and a 200 lb player was deemed about average weight at Flanker and above avg weight at SE.
Is the answer to this common knowledge? Have I been getting it backwards all along?
I don't know which of these conflicting data points to trust. Any and all thoughts on the subject welcome.

I wouldn't worry about it. Some of the best players have been 20-30lbs off their ideal weight, so a couple pounds isn't worth worrying about.
You might want to play your no.1 WR at FL as he will naturally fit in to the 1 WR formations.

I don't know if it makes a difference or not, but I put my best BPR guy at FL and my best RR guy, after him, at SE, and I run my plays based on those ideals. My slot receiver in 3 WR sets will often be my best BPR guy, my FL my 2nd best BPR, and my SE the best RR after those two. "Specialty" sets, like 1 WR or 4-5 WRs I randomize things depending on my goal from that set that week. I try to have one or sometimes two plays from EVERY formation, and I do different things in different games, and use players according to the play(s) I am using that week. So... while I have a play in my playbook for each WR in the 5WR formation, I will change which receiver has which position depending on the play or plays I've chosen for that week's game. Again, not really sure it matters that much, but that's how I roll

How are they listed in game. Even though your BPR guy should play FL, his position may be listed as SE...which is where rex will put guys. Rex places players based on how they are listed...not who's the speed guy and who's the RR guy.

I've experienced countless examples of rex placing defensive players out of position. Maybe this is affected by my own settings for that, I am not sure.

Defense isn't held to the same standards as offense. Players can play all over on D. I am surprised it puts your LG at LT. That I've never seen. Especially if you have a high rated LT active.

At least you will always notice as he didn't let you proceed with your LG playing two positions at once.

This happens when you use the lock button. Take it away and it does not do this. Not sure why but that is the only time it happens.

How many use the LB in the dime spot as the AI will do at the start of the season?

How many use the LB in the dime spot as the AI will do at the start of the season? I think if you get enough d.backs this doesn't happen
