Draft 2060
I was going to try and put something together about the 49ers 2060 draft looking at each pick and moves made or not made but there is simplicity to this for San Francisco, if QB Bernard Brennan is as good as he looks and holds near his initial ratings then this can be considered a successful draft.
There was a large trade offer made for the 1st overall pick but there was no way the 49ers were passing on Brennan.
1.1 QB Bernard Brennan
Height: 6' 4"
Weight: 230 lbs.
Solecismic Score: 46
40 Time: 4.37
Bench Reps: 16
Agility: 7.00
Broad Jump: 9' 6"
Position Drill: 82
Initial Rating: 28/85

Brennan has it all, great tape, fantastic combines, he is big and fast, accurate and intelligent. The 49ers have needed a quality QB for a number of years and with this selection think they have found their franchise QB.
This is where the disappointments start as we looked to make trade offers to get back into the 1st a couple of times, one was at 1.22 with Detroit looking to get DE Braden Cash (The Lions made the right call to take Cash 28/73) and another was at 1.26 with Las Vegas with the aim to get TE Pete Zisland (Denver got him a few picks later 35/59). I think the Raiders could have made the deal and still got the safety they took (Collier 26/49) at 2.1 and they would also have had pick 3.27 or next years 49ers 3rd.
We couldn’t pull either deal off so the next pick was at 2.1 where I was considering TE Heath Nichols but thought it was too soon so took a WR instead.
2.1 SE Micah Alcott
Height: 6' 3"
Weight: 200 lbs.
Solecismic Score: 35
40 Time: 4.42
Bench Reps: 14
Agility: 7.00
Broad Jump: 9' 0"
Position Drill: 60
Initial Rating: 31/44

I thought Alcott was a solid WR who runs good routes and with solid combine numbers could stay on the field regardless of the situation. However the initial thoughts are this pick could be a miss.
The 49ers own 3rd had been traded to the Bears as part of the deal for the 2059 2.29 selection (along with 3.25 and 5.25 in the 2059 draft). However prior to the draft QB Emmanuel Sinclair was traded to Jacksonville for picks 3.27 and 7.8. While pick 3.4 was on the clock the 49ers sent pick 3.27 and 4.1 to the Jaguars for pick 3.5
3.5 RCB Ramon Neely
Height: 5' 10"
Weight: 181 lbs.
Solecismic Score: 18
40 Time: 4.43
Bench Reps: 18
Agility: 7.10
Broad Jump: 9' 0"
Position Drill: 47
Initial Rating: 26/52

Neely’s VU interview along with game tape showing good M2M coverage, an ability to pick off a pass and despite smaller stature playing the run really well meant that the 49ers took a gamble to grab him here.
I was still looking for a TE and at the end of the 3rd round San Francisco sent their 2061 3rd to Kansas City for pick 3.32 to get the last one on the teams list of rookie TE’s.
3.32 TE Vernon Stanton
Height: 6' 4"
Weight: 258 lbs.
Solecismic Score: 21
40 Time: 4.60
Bench Reps: 18
Agility: 7.40
Broad Jump: 10' 1"
Position Drill: 20
Initial Rating: 32/43

I wasn’t sure about this pick, but he was the last of the TE’s on our list and looked to have the ability to make a big play and add plenty of YAC. The question is whether he can be a decent route runner? If he can run block as well as the tape indicates then he should be a contributor to the team.
5.1 RDE Charles Woodall
Height: 6' 3"
Weight: 272 lbs.
Solecismic Score: 17
40 Time: 4.79
Bench Reps: 17
Agility: 7.36
Broad Jump: 8' 4"
Initial Rating: 18/54

Woodall was picked with the thought he could play either RDE or move to WLB. He is an excellent tackler in the run game and has shown some pass rush skills. He is really under weight to stay at DE so decisions will need to be made prior to camp on where his future lies.
At the end of the 5th round the Raiders and 49ers agreed a deal sending picks 6.1 and 7.8 to Las Vegas while the 49ers got 6.26, 2062 5th and ILB Roberto Carter in return
6.26 SS Teddy Bennett
Height: 6' 1"
Weight: 215 lbs.
Solecismic Score: 21
40 Time: 4.55
Bench Reps: 12
Agility: 7.23
Broad Jump: 8' 4"
Position Drill: 31
Initial Rating: 20/43

San Francisco didn’t have a safety signed beyond this season and this was not the draft class to rectify the situation. However Bennett looks like he plays the run well and if he makes the roster would be expected to be a contributor on special teams.
7.1 LDT Myron Gohn
Height: 6' 2"
Weight: 304 lbs.
Solecismic Score: 14
40 Time: 5.02
Bench Reps: 35
Agility: 8.01
Broad Jump: 8' 2"
Initial Rating: 30/54

Gohn has been brought in to play on passing downs as he has power to bull rush up the middle. Add in some decent speed and he could be a solid pass rusher from the middle.
