Has anyone done any math on attendance / ticket prices.
For example - one league I'm in we are at 96%. FEELS like - that's about optimal. To get higher % would give up on ticket prices.

96% what? Attendance?
I usually hit right near, if not at 100% with recommended prices. You saying I should charge more?

There has to be some break even where price vs attendance % gets you the max revenue. Would imagine 100% means you are leaving some money on the table Didn't know if anyone had done any work on that.

In the IFL a couple of years ago, one of the GMs decided to go against the game's ticket price recommendations. He had a good team, nearly-full attendance at 65,000 or so, but his ticket prices were among the league's lowest. He raised them ever so slightly to where they were about average in the league. The result was, however unrealistically, that his attendance collapsed to about 5% of what it was, tantamount to a complete boycott. He adjusted them back down the next season, but his attendance only slightly crept back up each season thereafter; probably still not back to what it was.
So whereas, lowering prices might work in attracting more fans and a net gain in revenue, this example indicates that the prospect of raising prices to increase revenue is scary.

You may be right about the money on the table.. I think my main concern is keeping the stands full, I think it helps some with homefield advantage. I wonder if the amount of extra money you can potentially make is worth losing out on a sell out. You probably wanna find the highest you can charge and still fill the stadium, and I think the game does a pretty good job on recs for that. I'll usually adjust slightly to make the numbers more "round" when it comes time to do tickets, but rarely go more than 1% up or down.
Would be interesting to see a study. I know long ago an exploit was found whereby you could jack up your luxury boxes to the max and make ridiculous money.. Pretty sure Jim patched that one right up shortly after it was discovered.

I just rex every year. Attendance is nearly at capacity regardless if prices go up or down. I've never gone extreme one way or the other.

If you're selling out games then it probably means you're leaving money on the table by not setting ticket prices high enough. I would say the you're right, 95-96% is probably the target.
