Pros-Is an elite level talent that only comes around ever few years. Carlos is the Bilitnikoff award winner and the Heisman winner. He was the favorite for the award to start the season after finishing 2nd last year. This is a workout warrior and a gym rat. He makes plays in the open field, catches covered balls, and runs as smooth as i have ever seen for a college kid coming to the pro level.
Cons-I cannot knock this kids ability at all. I see the Giants have 3 WRs and Tubbs there is may have been a better pick for the team. That being said, YOu have to take the WR or QB when you pick this high.
Grade A+
1 - 2 (2) Cincinnati Julio Riddols (online) Raymond Dawsey WR Brigham Young
![](https://archive.sltrib.com/images/2015/1005/yfoot_100515~10.jpg)
Pros-As technical a route runner in this draft Dawsey is probably a smarter Wide receiver then a talented one. He is always in the right spot and makes the right choices to help his QB out and to make big plays. His wiggle is good but not great in the open field and he is 5 foot 9. He left as a junior and has a good ceiling. He also is an excellent kick returner that should translate into the RZB level.
Cons-I think he i a little early. I is always tough as i am sure Julio saw a playmaking WR and jumped on the talent and i do not blame him. He was my 3rd Wr on my list ony because of his height and his endurance. He takes plays off and doesn't have the i need to play every down mentality. That being said i think the Bengals will love this kid. Again Jared Tubbs is the obvious BPA and also a need but gets passed over.
Grade A-
1 - 3 (3) Seattle Nick Braden Aniston RB Michigan
![](https://cdnph.upi.com/svc/sv/i/7831511041589/2017/1/15110421192493/DeVeon-Smith-Miami-Dolphins-promote-RB-waive-Rey-Maualuga.jpg)
Pros-My 9th best player on my board but the 2nd position player to be taken. Nick is the GM of the Seahawks and he makes his choices with purpose. He had a gigantic man crush on Thomas Rawls and has been searching again for that type of difference maker out of the backfield. This kid is as all purpose out of the backfield as they get. He does not have the sprinter like speed but is quicker then fast and will beat defenders to the edge. He is a daylight back in that he makes his offensive line better as he can see the holes or create the holes. He is a special talent that can play every down run or pass.
Cons-The Seahawks probably just got better then they were last year which probably scares alot of teams. Braden does not have the elite speed that a top tier back usually has and he has no return ability. After that i really cannot find a negative as i love this kid.
Grade A
1 - 4 (4) Tennessee grimmer Dustin Kempthorne DE Washington
![](http://seattletimes.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/huskyfootball/files/2014/07/VegasBowl23_51.jpg)
Pros-A motor on this kid that will not quit. He Was all Pac 12 and won the Chuck Bednarik award this year. He ended up with a sack or tackle for loss in every half that the HUskies played this year. He missed 2 plays total due to a helmet issue and coaches decision. He will rush the pass from anywhere and has the best speed rush in this class this year. He can overpower in the pass rush and also run over 330 pound offensive lineman at times.
Cons-He run defense was good in college due to his tremendous talent but he is so aggressive he ruins the edge at times. He was also evaluated at LB and most teams rated him as the 4th best LB in the class. I have him slightly below Tubbs as he is a little more raw at the next level and not as good all around.
Grade A
1 - 5 (5) Jacksonville * Sef0r Jerald Tubbs DE Oklahoma State
![](https://cdn2.newsok.biz/cache/r960-ae3157100583a349e2aac135be327e78.jpg)
Pros-I think this kid can be a All RZB every year. His pass rushing and run defense is the best in the league for sure. This is the kid you line up at DE for 10-13 years and get production every week and every year then talk about HOF numbers. He is the most polished defensive end and has natural incredible football instincts. He left after his Junior year and already comes in more pro suited. He led the nation in Forced fumbles with 13 last year and punishes people when he tackles them. I thought he was the best player in this year's draft non skill position.
Cons-His endurance sometimes is an issue. He never takes plays off but you can see him gassed at times.
Grade A+
1 - 6 (6) New York (N) Joel Raul Rosenfels DT North Carolina
Pros-Paul was a 4 year starter and a 3 time all american for North Carolina. He Is a great pass rushing inside Tackle that can play nose or either tech in a 4-3. He has a great motor and also can read the run as well as any interior defensive lineman. He spent the entire year as the #3 player on the board and skipped the combine. That was what everyone thought was a mistake but he still ended up the 3rd non skilled player taken so great job by his agent.
Cons-He is an elite talent at DT with ability. He does get overshadowed by his size at times 6-1 and 315 pounds. He is a big heavy so he did not play every down at North Carolina but also did not need to. Joel gets tow great players but with LT Jay Stephenson up there i wonder how he passed on the long term pass protector.
Grade A
1 - 7 (7) Tennessee grimmer Avery Fine T Indiana
![](https://usatbroncoswire.files.wordpress.com/2016/03/usatsi_7556308.jpg?w=1000&h=600&crop=1)
Pros-Avery is the man that called the line calls and defensive fronts for the Hoosiers. This kid is as smart as they get and studying to become an Astrophysicist. He is the best all around blocker in the draft. He has the strength and the physical tools to punish people and also the feet to keep the edge.
Cons-He is a little undersized at 6-4 289 pounds. He has some injury issues that hurt his chances of being on the field for every play. He will not make it on every down but will be as reliable as possible when he is in there.
Grade A
1 - 8 (8) Houston schwantz Dashawn Palmer CB Tulsa
Pros-A scary player that is on the field to injure others it seems. Deshawn has tremendous hands and will read plays before they are even in the backfield. He is not scared to put a shoulder in the run game. He had a nickname as the Punisher at Tulsa for his tackles that seems to stop opponents in their track.
Cons-I Love this kid. He has just good coverage skills but has every single intangible you could ever want. His smaller stature will probably not make him as scary of a tackler in RZB but i love this pick. I had him rated more as a safety but i could see him player either depending on the scheme.
Grade A+
1 - 9 (9) Washington hildebrand Corwin Osborne S Princeton
Pros-This guy was listed as my 2nd best player on my board. I have him listed as a CB and i LOVE his size at six foot and 204 pounds. He excels in coverage first and foremost. He can be put on and island or in a zone and will shut the opposing WR down. he plays every down and loves special teams actually forcing 3 fumbles on punt coverage duty last year at Princeton.
Cons-Will the small school adaption slow the progression into RZB? His hands are less then stellar and that was most likely the reason for the fall in the draft for him. HIs combines are off the charts but he is not as physical in game. He is a good tackler but doesn't punish ball carriers on the tackle. I am guessing he gets moved into a CB spot.
Grade A
1 - 10 (10) Buffalo ChrustifusMax Otis Branch WR Lock Haven
![](https://lhueagleeye.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/dsc09853.jpg)
Pros-An good route runner with some wiggle to make defenders miss. He is a hit or miss player as he is either going to be an elite possession type or struggle to make it as a number two in the league. He plays special teams and returns kicks. He will play every single down and not lose a step as he has endurance for days.
Cons-Not a big play threat. He can make plays with his crisp routes but will not beat defenders down field. He has a decent ceiling but also a low floor IMO. His size is ok but he needs to put some weight on. That jump to the RZB has to be a risk for this kid. There were some rumors this kid was a late round 1st type of player.
Grade A-
1 - 11 (11) Green Bay Clown (online) Jay Stephenson T Nevada
![](https://image.cleveland.com/home/cleve-media/width600/img/browns_impact/photo/austin-corbett-513dabf354c61fc7.jpg)
Pros-My 9th best player on my board here at pick 11. I think this kid is a beast and physical speciman. I know offensive line players are not sexy but some teams will be sad they passed on the 6 foot 6 327 pound behemoth. He is great at pass protection and a road grader at times in the run game. He does not take plays off and never missed a game for Nevada starting all 4 years.
Cons- I know an OT is not sexy but i have no real negatives on this kid. He has a high floor. His strength at the point of attack is great but not overwhelming at times.
Grade A+ I love this kid and i think a huge value getting him out of the top ten picks.
1 - 12 (12) Arizona Jeremy Vinny Anania T Central Michigan
![](http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/cmu/sports/m-footbl/auto_a_widephoto/12059174.jpeg)
Pros-My 19th best player on the board. All of my favorite Ts off the board already at pick 12 is surprising. This kid is a beast putting up 39 reps off 225 in the bench press(40 if you count the two reps he short armed) He is smaller then the other tackles barely over 6 foot and under 300 pounds. His feet in the run game are on level with the best blockers in the draft this year.
Cons-I think his pass blocking skills are slightly overrated. His footwork was excellent at CMU. He is moving to RT in RZB and he gets caught on the edge a few more times then i would like in the Senior Bowl. He is very raw and young as he is only 21 years old. I see a ton of potential but not sure he reaches the ceiling. His endurance is not an issue but he does seem to take plays off.
Grade A-
1 - 13 (13) New England ukpatfan Kerry Ballard WR Stanford
![](https://www.stanforddaily.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Michael-Rector-_11162013_DB_163.jpg)
Pros-As consistant as you can get on routes. He was the best punt returner in college football with 3 tds and an amazing 33 YPR on average. He is young at only 21 years of age but shows so much sizzle that he is almost untacklable in the open field. He has good size at 6 foot and was the clutch performer for Stanford in the Championship game.
Cons-He does not have elite speed. His tape shows some bursts in the return game but will almost never beat a db downfield. The coaching staff actually moved him as the slot WR only and took Go and Deep routes out of his patterns to get better usage out of him. He never started a college game but caught everyone's eyes in the playoff run and combine. He has some major question marks going into the pros if he has enough to make an impact at the next level as a starting WR. He was my 37th player on my board.
Grade-B+
1 - 14 (14) Denver Hooper Corey Alcorn OLB Kansas State
![](http://thepost.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/TreWalker.jpg)
Pros-The missile is the perfect nickname for this kid. He was all over the field this year as unblockable as they get in a 3-4 defense. His combines were off the charts being my 4th best player on my board. He led the nation in forced fumbles on Qbs and sacks and was the runner up for the Bednarik award. He rarely was used in coverage at KSU but his drills at the combine and his pro day showed elite enough skills that teams were talking about him as a shutdown coverage backer too.
Cons-he has alot of hype with his Combines and is a little undersized at 5 foot 11. He does not overpower people in the pass rush but has a great spin move and beats every offensive tackle to the edge if he wants to.
Grade-A+
1 - 15 (15) New York (A) * (30 min) pressbox Clyde Donaldson WR Rice
Pros-Speed, Speed, and more Speed. This is a track background kid that can outrun anyone. I love the old Miami U verbage that Speed Kills and that is what this kid brings to the table.
Cons-Not a polished route runner at all. I had to look at my draft card and see if Al Davis made this pick or pressbox? When he beats people his plays are incredible and he is uncoverable at times but he is not always in the right place and will not make the tough catches.
Grade A-
1 - 16 (16) Oakland SweenDawg72 Malcolm Duncan CB Baylor
![](http://hhjonline.com/clients/hhjonline/12-6-2013-10-36-11-AM-4003961.jpg)
Pros-Malcolm is a hard hitter and really loves playing mano a mano. He is the type of player that you throw on a wide receiver and he plays better to accept a the challenge of egos. His man to man skills are on par with the best in the draft. He is a big corner at 6 ft and 190 pounds. He had 16 career ints in his 3 year Baylor career so he has ball skills.
Cons-He is a good tackler but struggles to really help on the run. He Got lost in alot of tape when he was in zone coverage. His feet and his speed were not on the same level and he seemed really less comfortable in the zone coverages in the drills.
Grade-A
1 - 17 (17) San Francisco dthompso8 Jorge Newman TE Michigan State
![](https://www.isportsweb.com/wp-content/uploads//2016/09/little-giants.jpg)
Pros-A superstar TE in the making. I know Tes do not get enough love but this kid is going to be a great pro. Jorge has great speed for the TE position and really is even better at making people miss. He is a good run blocker that is as physical as an offensive tackle at the point of attack. He makes the tough catches over the middle and everyone has seen his 1 handed td catch against Notre Dame. I think this guy may have the highest ceiling left of the draft picks with the highest floor.
Cons-He is not the best route runner but is decent enough to be impactful. His pass blocking was sparcely used in college so that needs to be worked on. He is a little small at 6 foot 2 but more then adequate.
Grade A+I have him rated as the 20th rated prospect but i was watching to see if he dropped below 20 for us to trade up to get him.
1 - 18 (18) Los Angeles (A) imnkognito Percy Pappas S Colorado State1 -
Pros-We have our first kid that totally skipped the combine. Colorado State was brutal this year but Pappas was all the rage and highlights on the team. He was their leading tackler, had the most sacks on the team, led the team with 9 interceptions, and had 4 forced fumbles. We did get to interview him and he was great on breaking down film and how he answered the SOle questions. He was a Juco transfer that only played one year at CSU but made the most of it. I wonder if the no combine helped or hurt his stock this year though.
Cons-He had 9 interceptions but also had at least 5-10 times he should have had more interceptions on tape. He is more of a use his ability player and less man on man scheme. I have watched alot of tape on him and his run defense is just average despite his numbers last year.
Grade-A
1 - 19 (19) Tampa Bay WilleB Jace Shepard OLB Memphis
![](http://archive.commercialappeal.com/Services/image.ashx?domain=www.commercialappeal.com&file=charles_harris.jpg&resize=)
Pros-This kid is another wicked scary man on defense. He can cover and read the QB with the best of them. His combines were off the charts and he was my 5th highest rated player on my board. The major thing that sets Jace apart is his football instincts and smartness are completely off the charts. His tape shows him all over the place on the game film.
Cons-When he was at the senior bowl he really struggled to get any bull rush and even got pancaked a few times. His coverage was on point and he was able to get the edge but once a lineman got his hands on him he would crumble from the pressure.
Grade A
1 - 20 (20) Chicago davehibb Bart Gonzalez ILB Minnesota
![](http://www.grandforksherald.com/sites/default/files/styles/16x9_620/public/1js3iJwvLSEom7UDSrzWBM5ffdNArQorT.jpg?itok=AvpwhrXk)
Pros-Bart is a big kid at 6 foot 4 and 260 pounds. He is a pure middle linebacker which is fresh to see at times. He is the 18th best player on my board. I had Andrews rated a little higher but you have to understand this kid is a tackling machine. He had 10 games of 15 plus tackles last year and 24 tackles alone in the Michigan overtime loss. he is smart and instinctive can cover backs out of the backfield.
Cons-The tackling machine is really a 2 trick pony. He is really anemic when rushing the passer with his best ability is bull rushing some offensive lineman and just out motoring them on the play. He is really not a 3 down guy as he wears down a little heavy at times. The really odd thing is despite being a tackle machine he did not force one fumble in his career. Neat to see Dave Hibb take this non static guy.
Grade A-
1 - 21 (21) Cincinnati Julio Riddols Elijah Hancock DE Florida State
![](https://www.dailyherald.com/storyimage/DA/20160927/sports/309279787/AR/0/AR-309279787.jpg&updated=201609271635&MaxW=600&maxH=600&noborder)
Pros-This kid was not even a talk about the first round during the season. I think it is more because Elijah is great and everything and not elite at anything. he is a big monster at 6foot 6 and 306 pounds at defensive end. He could move inside and be a DT at times or full time. He is a great run stuffer and also can rush the passer with ease. He has a great one had bull rush move where he overpowers poor offensive lineman and throws them down. Here is where this kid is neat is that he can play LB also. He ran the linebacker drills and ran then as good as most of the linebackers did and this kid is such an athlete he outweighs them but 60 pounds at times.
Cons-Where do you play him i guess is the number one question. I had him as a raw linebacker but i know there were 2 or 3 teams at the end of the 1st amazed he was still there at this point. he was my 14th player on my board and I have him on my board as a defensive end.
Grade A
1 - 22 (22) Miami * (5 min) Gauss Darrell Lloyd S Stanford
![](https://nesncom.files.wordpress.com/2018/04/justin-reid.jpg?w=640)
Pros-Great hands and ball making skills to go along with coverage skills all over the field. He is a completely natural athlete and was the key reason the defense at Stanford was the best in the nation this year on the way to their National Championship. Darrell really knocks mouth pieces out of the opposing players and that is a stat above and beyond at times.
Cons-Lloyd is a difference maker but he was marginally on the field. He seemed out of breath at times towards the end of the season of had injuries that really hampered him staying on the field. I hope that endurance issue does not translate into the RZB. He seems to rely on talent more then technique and will find himself out of place many of times.
Grade A-
1 - 23 (23) Pittsburgh ezlee2 (online) Randall Springer DT Boston College
![](https://c8.alamy.com/comp/DMR392/boston-college-defensive-tackle-austin-giles-52-during-game-action-DMR392.jpg)
Pros-He is probably the best defensive tackle in this year's class. I dubbed him as the Nose tackle in this draft if anyone needed one. His combines were incredible and outshined his play on the field which could mean potential. He had 10 tackles for loss in his 9 starts last year at BC.
Cons-This DT class is a little weaker then others. He is my 6th best player on my board but i do not love him. His combines are so out of wack with his gameplay. He had 9 sacks in his whole career at BC and He had 91 total tackles in 3 years. I think he is a starter and a decent one at that but a little overhyped. His endurance looks like it may be an issue at times also.
Grade-A-
1 - 24 (24) Los Angeles (N) Sawblade300 Taylor Keeling S Louisiana State
![](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/Iab8h6XEq8A/hqdefault.jpg)
Pros-This is an odd pick. Keeling is a big kid and and played linebacker at LSU. Well he has worked out at the combine as a Safety. He is my 51st player on my board. He is an elite defender against the run on tape, he is a hard hitter, and is good in coverage. Now take that with a grain of salt as he was all of those things at linebacker at LSU and now he is a safety in the draft.
Cons-Keeling played linebacker and has linebacker hands. If you have ever heard the old adage that is why you play defense that describes Keeling. His endurance is an issue in the move too as he was a 2 down backer with no real pass rush ability in college and not moving outside in space every play sounds so much more taxxing.
Grade B
1 - 25 (25) Atlanta bighouserulez (online) Efrain Baker T Colorado
Pros-Baker is the perfect RT coming into the league. He is my 12th best guy on my board. His hands when he gets them on a defender are more like a claw machine throwing toys in the chute. He excels in run blocking as one of the best premiere run blocking finishers in this year's draft.
Cons-His pass blocking skills were so often not used at Colorado was an option run based offense last year. He has a motor on each player whereas he does not quit on a play but is not the smartest brick in the house.
Grade A
1 - 26 (26) Pittsburgh ezlee2 Douglas Stewart S South Carolina
Pros-IN college Stewart was a great man to man and run covering fool. He has good size and plays faster then he looks. He does not take a play off and loves playing on special teams.
Cons-This kid is less of a star in the pros. He was my 9th rated S and around 64th overall. He is slightly overinflated but still a good solid man to man corner. He has some rough hands to do not expect him to scare many quarterbacks into throwing picks to him.
Grade B+
1 - 27 (27) Carolina * (5 min) pip76 Maxwell Andrews ILB Pittsburgh
![](https://ssl.c.photoshelter.com/img-get/I0000gFaNufB0nx4/s/860/860/Pitt-linebacker-Max-Gruder-MG-9358.jpg)
Pros-I loved this kid he was my other choice at pick 25 or at least on my option list. I have him locked it at 13th in my list. Instincts from Max are bar none. You will not find a kid that wants to play in the middle and get dirty on every play. He has the talent and ability to do it all.
Cons-He has never played zone coverage in his playing days and will most likely struggle at just that in the pros. YOu can cover that up by throwing him in M2M or send him on a blitz as he is phenominal at both.
Grade A+
1 - 28 (28) New Orleans * (25 min) Southpaw Devonte Blume DT Southern Mississippi
![](https://southernmiss.com/images/2015/5/2/11052222.jpeg)
Pros-31st player on my list. This kid is a run stuffing beast and really is a gigantic mammoth of a man 6foot 7 inch and 345 pounds and as quick as some 300 pound guys. He is a good pass rusher and and really one of a kind.
Cons-There is something here this kid is too big to come into the league ha. He is marginal on endurance so he will struggle to stay on the field and his pass rush skills are going to be tough to translate into the pros as he sits so high leverage will get him in the RZB.
Grade A-
1 - 29 (29) Indianapolis Wackad00 Myles Espino G Southern Methodist
![](http://www.smudailycampus.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/2776549-1613492205-770x513.jpg)
Pros-Miles is the best of the bunch when it comes to interior lineman in this Draft. He is stronger on the field then in the weight room and has great feet and bend at the hips. He explodes into defenders in the run game. He has a chance to be an all pro with his technical and physical tools at the next level.
Cons-Miles is only 6 foot and sometimes larger defenders will get the size on him. He is really pretty flawless besides the fact that he wishes he would wear stilts.
Grade A+
1 - 30 (30) Seattle * (20 min) Nick Glenn Stephens DT Hawaii
Pros-This kid gets to go play for Seattle and win so that is a Pro. Stephens is my 42nd player on my board. He is a mammoth at 6 foot 6 and really a hole plugging genius. This pick should work out well as he is exactly what Seattle looks for at DTs which is major run defense and base pass rushing ability.
Cons-I really had this kid pegged as a late or middle 2nd rounder. He can play the run and will have a spot based on that and his size.
Grade B+
1 - 31 (31) Kansas City rush_27 Jackie Garcia T Texas
![](https://media.profootballfocus.com/2015/09/AP_191853203784.jpg?w=916&h=720)
Pros-This kid has powerful hits on the pass pro and has the power to throw people down. He reminds me of a WWE character at times on film as he manhandles people. He is my 33rd player on my board and i think a good value. He is a pure left tackle which adds value.
Cons-He has a really high floor but also a lower ceiling. He is more of a can't miss good player that you can plug and play from day one. I do not see much of a rise in him but he is already good starter material.
Grade A
1 - 32 (32) Minnesota Strubbel94 Kaleb Newton CB Central Florida
Pros-Smart instinctive player that overplays his little guy size. He is 5 foot 9 but barely 175 pounds on paper. Kaleb is a coaches son and is fine on the details of reading an offense probably as good as any player in this year's draft. He is a great at man to man coverage as he almost reads routes and timing before the ball is thrown. he is a harder hitter then you would think with that frame that he throws around.
Cons-Newton only had 3 career interceptions in college and is not much of a ballhawk. They mostly threw him on the best player in college so he is not very sound in zone coverage. I had him rated at 46th on my draft chart but i think he was one of the best DBs left worthy this late.
Grade A
