Gents,
I took the story from the FTB preview when we changed the name of the RZB Championship Trophy to the Beargrowlz Trophy. I am so thankful that he knew what he meant to us and the contributions to this league. I modeled just about everything from the original vNFL. Nelson was a very special person and was the type of man that tried to see the best in all of us. I try to do the same. It's challenging having 31 other guys, many of which have very strong personalities have everyone work together for a common goal. I believe we're able to do that for the most part. The RZB is this way because of Bear and I am grateful that this silly little game allowed our paths to cross. The vNFL was the first true community experience I had ever been a part of in FOF. I had played exclusively in the NAFL and still play there to this day. While I love that league it was not even close to being what the vNFL was and that was because of the vision that Nelson had.
BTW, I heard from Nelson's partner Brian (Hyperion) and he said that Nelson went peacefully after suffering from declining health for some time at home surrounded by the ones he loved.
RIP Nelson, you were a true gentleman and I am honored to have known you.

Hard to take in. For me the vNFL was so much like the RZB. The only league I played in for a long while. Bear was one of a kind. Sad day. My thoughts exactly. Bear was the reason why I got fully into MP. His league and its sense of community was truly exceptional. More than that he was someone who helped me personally on a couple of occasions. A real gentleman, honourable and principled. A sad loss. RIP.
