So what would your advice be on players like my 3rd round CB Calciano, or the DE Everett, where their static and other bars are clearly above the combine but where the combine related to the static bars (here bench in both cases) are clearly horrible for their position ?? Your CB appears to have bars above his combines. Maybe those bars hold, equally I could see his m2m and run d dropping. I don't really have anything definitive to say about him. Everett is an OLB? Everett looks a bit of a steal to me. His bars match his combines consistently. PD will help his intelligence so not necessarily a bad thing. Endurance is a shame. Very late 1st/very early 2nd type of player IMO. Thks for the answer Nick, The CB is a big question mark for me, i still ponder him vs Fitch taken a few spot later, but his static push the call toward him. We ll see, his combine are really bad though, hence the question marks. The Everett i meant was the DE taken 3.20 by SFO. His static bars are way up but his bench is very low at 22 (to me it would be under the old FOF7 constraint). The Everett OLB 's static were around his combine according to DA. So he was not relevant to the thread, but it s always nice to have a feedback. I took him mostly because all the guys i wanted were out and he would be a good affinity match, plus i still needed a good MLB for running down. The general sense of my question was : I agree that having static above the combine score is a good sign, but what if the combine is so bad that the player falls under the combine threshold (does it still exist btw? ) ?? For example what to think of a WR with 4.80 time and a max BPR bar ?? Is he a speedster than ran the combine with a cast or is my scout way out of base ?

Ah okay. Well I am honestly not that advanced to give you an answer at this point. I am not even sure there is an absolute answer one way or the other. We could do with recording the results on a number of these guys. I wouldn't like to say which way he goes.
In the old days going below the threshold was an absolute no. Now it isn't a good idea but can w o rk out sometimes. In this case it is really conflicting info.

thks for the answer,
I guess, i ll have to wait after ex2 for an answer and i m afraid i can agree with you on the fact that there s no definite one, most likely case by case...

FYI some static bars are split you may see one above combine and another below combine for a player that share the same combine, they don't necessarily split 50/50.
an example is break away speed and speed to the outside for a RB, both use the 40 for the combine they could both be close to right, one very high the other could be very low or close, you need to look through a draft class ands you'll see what I getting at.

Great stuff here that we need to hold on to.
Rob, can we move this to the Film Room section so we can refer to it later?
